    Hi All,

I am fairly new to trading and apologies if this is not the correct forum to ask.

I have been looking into the PE TTM ratios but I am very confused as to how this is calculated. My understanding is that you divide the current price by the the sum of the last 4 reported QTR EPS.

However, when I compare it with stockscreens like Zack, it gives me a totally different calculation.

    For example:
EPS for News Corp (NWSA.O) – Today’s price 13.89 USD

Taken from the News Corp 10Q reports:

    QTR 30 June 2016 = 0.16

    QTR 30 Sep 2016 = (0.03)

    QTR 31 Dec 2016 = (0.50)

    QTR 31 Mar 2017 = (0.01)

    So PEratio TTM should be = 13.89 / (0.16-0.03-0.5-0.01) = -36.55

However, on the zacks stock screener (freshly downloaded also today), it calculates it as +39.14. Which is a big difference.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
