SAN RAMON, Calif.----Chevron Corporation today reported net income of $7.9 billion for the third quarter 2008, compared with $3.7 billion a year earlier. For the first nine months of 2008, net income was $19.0 billion , up from $13.8 billion for the same period in 2007.
