Call it a hunch maybe. Recent analyists coverage and upgrades, dominate position in it's industry as most other global positioning systems and navigation devices lack Garmin's functionality and form. Product sales likely to do well in upcoming holiday season. Hey, Cramer likes them. They're getting good press on Forbes.com
They report before the bell Wednesday morning and I think they'll beat the $0.50 consensus estimate. Momentum has been to the upside past few weeks, until last Friday's dip. I look for a nice recovery and new highs later in this week.

Well I thought you'd be right. But apparantly not! Down 15% today. Go back to shorting Cramer's picks I think - has a better success ratio!

Dabnabit, foiled agin! ya win sum ya lose sum !
When Garmin reported third quarter earnings on Tuesday, the results appeared to be solid. The communications device maker met the Street's earnings per share forecast and revenues rose nearly in every division except one.
But the company missed the consensus sales predictions prompting investors to sell off the stock on Wednesday, sending the stock to a sharp decline of 15%.
S&P analyst said investors may have sold shares prematurely, however, and maintained a "strong buy" rating on the stock.

I actually agree! Great buying opportunity on Garmin here I think - for a 3 - 6 month run. Sales up 20%. Car satnav sales up 147%! The only reason they missed estimates by a tiny 3 cents a share is the exchange rate! (They're in the Caymen Islands.)

Huh? Garmin International is located in KC, Missouri. Besides that, the stock trades in US currency on the Nasdaq?? & 3 cents is not tiny; 216 million shares x 3 cents = $6.48 million

Actually, Garmin International, Inc. has offices in Olathe, KS, but the company Garmin Ltd. is a Cayman Islands company. There address is

For the three months ending Sept. 30, Garmin reported earnings of $123 million, or 56 cents per share, compared with $102.5 million, or 47 cents per share, during the same period a year ago.
Excluding the effect of foreign exchange rates, Garmin earned 50 cents for the quarter, up from 33 cents last year and in line with expectations from analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial. While revenue rose 62 percent to $408 million from $251.3 million in the year-ago period, it missed analysts' prediction of $423.4 million.

Indeed he is, but if you want your stock certificate you'll need to go through Securities Transfer Department
928 Grand Boulevard

I still don't see what the exchange rate has to do with the 3 cent miss, it's not like the company didn't know exchange rates would fluctuate when they issued their previous guidance and it sure didn't dissuade shareholders from a mass exodus today. I do think they have a great product, easily better than Magellan (I own a product from each) and I wouldn't doubt if Q4 is much better as they will likely see increased sales through the holidays.
By the way, did you forget your southern drawl?
