fox news.. theres an oxymoron for you.
seriously i am glad they got these guys, but dont fool yourself. i am sure they just happend to cross the wrong shiek or prince, word was leaked to the pakistanis, and we look like mind readers. basic laws of statistics tell you more arrests/attacks should be happening. but then again the usd, airlines, and retail were all up on the news. reminds me that the market can stay irrational longer than a player can stay solvent. good luck all!

WHAT the HELL is your point Frank ? There ARE terrorists out there and they must be dealt with, no one is denying it. You seem to feel that this lends credence to your belief that we should destroy Iraq. Once again (although no one is getting through to you) Iraq has developed into the recruiting center and training grounds for Islamic crazies from all over the world. Our troops are in harms way as the civil war escalates and there isn't a damn thing our kids can do about it...or maybe you're in favor of nuking the country....that'll solve the problem.

Regardless of what is said or written, you will have your views and that's terrific but do me a favor and don't attempt to impose your beliefs upon me.
Your bias is every bit as onerous as the media bias which you decry. Why don't you just sit there and stew in your own juices and try to figure out how we can get out of this mess because just between you and me...they outnumber us. You might begin to understand how Custer felt when he said " Where the hell did THEY all come from".
To tell you the truth the Battle Hymn of the Republic is getting a mite old when repeated over and over again. Maybe this is the "End of Days" and you're looking forward to the final ecstacy or whatever you and your bretheren call it as you ascend into the great beyond. Good luck with that pal.

This ends our broadcast day. As a messenger of Christian beliefs Frank, you make a hell of a chart reader.

You're a lemming supporting the mass views. You should keep your views with the lemmings because I'm not brainwashed, as you are by our news.

Wow seems like someone is a little close minded. 'Holier than thou' sentiment, thats just great. I wonder what Jesus would think of you judging others lmao. Who gives you the right to judge, only God has that right.

Please, take a step back and look at your idiotic antics. No need for sarcastic remarks and cynicism. You make our religion look bad.

OUR religion ?? And just what religion might that be ? The one and only TRUE religion ?? Do everyone a favor and find a site where psalms are traded and scripture quoted......
Judge not lest you be judged ?? IS that how it goes ? Let me hear an AMEN brothers and sisters.
The only one I see throwing around terms like "idiotic antics" is one of God's chosen children and self appointed spokesperson.
When Jesus returns, please give him my cell phone number 'cause I have a few bones to pick with him. Seems to me the world is full of injustice which doesn't enhance his "compassionate" rep very much and I think he should discuss the problem with his Pop.
Oh yeah and while we're at it, maybe you will allow dissenting views since YOUR religion must allow for that since you are blessed with love for your fellow man, is that correct or doesn't YOUR religion dictate that concept ?

Maybe I should've made myself a little more clear. The reply wasn't meant for you, it was meant for guru. I actually agree with most of the posts you have made here oldboldpilot. When I meant OUR religion, I was referring to the fact the chart guru and I have the SAME religion, and was referring to the fact that IMO he was making OUR religion look bad by his antics. The 'holier than thou' remark was meant for guru as well, I usually never try to express or impose my religious views on others. Everything I said was in context to what we believe and that the chart guru's antics are making it look bad.

Maybe it was a mistake to throw myself into the fire, I should've just pm'ed the guru with the message instead.

And please don't assume things I didn't say, I never said I believed that my religion was the one and only TRUE religion as you put it. Don't put words in my mouth, and don't assume I was talking to you. I can see how you were so quick to start an argument by how vague my post was, which I apologize for. But please do me a favor stop assuming things I never said.

oldboldpilot, I also saw your post on another thread regarding you fighting in another war. I have deep respect for that as my father served in the military, and I plan to join the reserve after college when I obtain my B.S. in civil engineering.

I guess it's best to keep my views to myself on the internet as I always seem to get flamed and attacked.

Sorry......wasn't trying to foment trouble. Misinterpreted your remarks and for that, I apolgoize !
And yeah, I'm a little quick to reply and sometimes should take the time to reflect. Guess I'm a reactionary........but that comes with the irrascibility of age, at least in my case !
Since this is a public forum, you're better off addressing whoever it is that you are replying to, otherwise you get people like me throwing in their two cents worth.

Howdy oldboldpilot 'n nathan, I'm gonna set aside any sarcasm or diffrences wit ya guys today. Jes wanna ask a few questions.

Set aside yer ideas bout the news media, religion, 'n all that and jes tell me how ya think the U.S. of A. should be handlin the threat of terrorism?

I hear a lot of remarks bout how the government is so screwed up fer fightin 'em, jet put it in your court fer a minute and tell me what ya think we should do bout it if ya will?

I'd like to be educated like you guys, help me out a bit !

1. Is the threat of terrorism something we need to be concerned about?
2. If so, who is it we need to be concerned about?
3. What can we do to stop the threat?

I don't know what motivates you to join the reserve but let me give you a word of advice.
I'm still sporting shrapnel from a Chicom grenade I was the recipient of more than a half century ago. I have no problem with defending my country from those who are a threat but before you cast your fate into the wind, think long and hard about the conflicts in which we have been engaged and ask yourself if you realy feel we are fighting for the preservation of our homeland.
My friends and I were cannon fodder ..... and the same holds true for todays military men and women.
Give me a just cause and I will gladly give my life.....but not for the whim of a politician.
I was raised with the slogan Semper Fidelis but I have come to question it's meaning. I shall be always faithful to my country, right or wrong or....I shall always be faithful to the Corps ? I have a slight problem with that country thing !

Thanks for the advice. It's something that I seem to always be undecided on. One day I'll be all for it, the next I'll have second thoughts on whether I should really do it. I'll definitely be giving it more thought, as I still have a ways to go in college.

Setting aside the rancor.......

1. Certainly the terrorist threat is a vital concern but..... we are going about it the wrong way. What you're asking for is a treatise on foreign policy (authored by OBP) and I don't think I'm prepared to do an in depth analysis of all that we are doing wrong. But let me say that we are fighting the wrong people. Iraq was not a terrorist threat to us at the time we mounted the latest offensive but it sure as hell is now.
2. The United States government dictates by fear and intimidation. That isn't just MY view....I have heard that all over the world during my travels
At the moment, our wondrous administration has no formal dialogue with North Korea, Iran or many of the other nations who we consider a threat. A bit difficult to reach a compromise on any issue, wouldn't you say ?
3.Stopping the threat.......now THERE is a thorny question. Let's try this approach.
Rather than spend billions upon billions of dollars on weapons what if we were to devote that money to the betterment of societies in dire need of medical care, of employment opportunities, of educational facilities. That seems to work for Hezbollah for every village that the Israelis bombed turned into another Hezbollah community. I'm speaking not just of America but all "advanced" nations of the world. I know.....kind of a ridiculous premise isn't it ? When have we ever given thought to the millions of people in the world who are clinging to life tenuously.

Now I'm REALLY going to give you some ammunition.......this is no longer the nation of my birth. Things have changed so radically and dramatically that I no longer recognize it. I have said it before, and if I could, I would leave tomorrow. Yeah....I know, good riddance, love it or leave it.....I've heard it all BEFORE. Nothing will change in this country...we are way beyond the tipping point and as such, I can see nothing but stife for the U.S. in the future...but that's just be

Go to it Krazy, give me your best shot !!

Good pernts that oldbold, kint argue wit much o that.
Think were all gettin weary bout da war, but i'm thinkin ya gotta stick to yer guns er nothin was worth the effert.

Here's a good plan fer peace :

"I see a lot of people yelling for peace but I have not heard of a plan for peace. So, here's one plan."

1) "The US will apologize to the world for our "interference" in their affairs, past & present. You know, Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Tojo, Noriega, Milosevic, Hussein, and the rest of those "good 'ole' boys", we will never "interfere" again.

2) We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany , South Korea , the Middle East, and the Philippines . They don't want us there. We would station troops at our borders. No one allowed sneaking through holes in the fence.

3) All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of whom or where they are. They're illegal!!! France will welcome them.

4) All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days unless given a special permit!!!! No one from a terrorist nation will be allowed in. If you don't like it there, change it yourself and don't hide here. Asylum would never be available to anyone. We don't need any more cab drivers or 7-11 cashiers.

5) No foreign "students" over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don't attend classes, they get a "D" and it's back home baby.

6) The US will make a strong effort to become self-sufficient energy wise. This will include developing nonpolluting sources of energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while

7) Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we go someplace else. They can go somewhere else to sell their production. (About a week of the wells filling up the storage sites would be enough.)

8 If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not "interfere." They can pray to Allah or whomever, for seeds, rain, cement or whatever they need. Besides most of what we give them is stolen or given to the army. The people who need it most get very little, if anything.

9) Ship the UN Headquarters to an isolated island someplace. We don't need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, the building would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens.

10) All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way, no one can call us "Ugly Americans" any longer. The Language we speak is ENGLISH..learn it...or LEAVE...Now, isn't that a winner of a plan?

"The Statue of Liberty is no longer saying "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses." She's got a baseball bat and she's yelling, 'you want a piece of me?"

I agree with all your 11 points, including the Statue of Liberty comment. Problem is that the liberals will not allow any of that. They don't even want photo I.D's for voting.
