Hi, thanks for the opportunity!
On Sept 13th I put a order on my etrade account to buy 420 shares of Salares Lithium (SALZF). The limit price for the day was 0.600. Etrade didn't put my order and they told me that "this stock has been halted from trading currently. The last trade was on 8/27/10. You may want to try to contact the company to see if they know when it will resume trading".
Than I put the order again, but this time with the price of 0.611: Same thing happened!
So, after calling and talking to five different people, I put again, but this time I "bought 1000 and I put the price 0.666: "Your trade inquiry has been reviewed and completed. There was a reported trade 0.65 at 9:58:03 am EST on 9/20, which was ruled a cancel trade since this security is halted on its home exchange.Based on this information, it has been determined that the order is not due an execution.
Reports generated by the market will occasionally contain information which is either not valid or is incorrect. This is a market issue, not unique to any one brokerage firm. In this case, a report was generated that an order executed below your limit price, which under normal circumstances would result in the execution of your order.
However, it was learned that this was a cancelled trade, meaning no actual shares were ever exchanged. In this case, investors with open orders are not due an execution since there were no shares available at that price after all. Please note that this can occur with any firm. As mentioned, trading on this security had been halted on its home exchange at the time, meaning no one was getting executions on this security at that time. Whether you are with E*TRADE or not, no shares were being exchanged at that time and no fills are due.
The company was sold, I hit a home run, today the shares are 7.40 and I don't own it!
Please, I appreciate any thoughts/comments on this. I'm trying to get this from them and the last thing I heard from them is that I need to send a letter to a specific department and bla bla bla bla....Does anybody have/had the same problem??
Thanks a lot
