Some things to consider:

Bernanke's comments helped cause the dollar sell off and truncate the half cycle low.

RSI on the BPNYA is still oversold.

The Trin did not work its way to oversold before reversing.

And the dollar will be in the timing band for a bottom in the next 4 - 8 days

Stocks may correct yet again during this daily cycle.

Always enjoy these. Thank you.

Regarding cycles. Last we exchanged I think you stated you look mostly toward simple observation when trying to identify cycles.

Have you applied other techniques such as dual MA crossovers and detrending calculations by dividing the current observed price by its MA then moving the MA back half of its period? My studies reveal this should result in an oscillator that gives clear peaks and troughs aiding in cycle identification.

I am always interested in improving performance -- because that = $$$$

You make some interesting and compelling suggestions -- I will have to look into this, thank you.

Got plenty of books on TA with many chapters devoted to cycle analysis. While I understand it in my head actually putting it to practice requires computing power which I can't justify the expense given my level of trading.

Let me know if you'd like to discuss further. I can recommend literature or summarize what I know of these techniques. Feel free to shoot me a PM or carry on the discussion here.
