I have reset the trading simulator for August - the prize for winning is a great trading book. The winner will also have his win displayed under his name in the forum.

If you already played in previous competitions, you already have an account and your can join the July contest with the same username and password by going here (http://vse.marketwatch.com/Game/StartViewGame.aspx?id=OnlineTradersForum). If you have forgotton the game password, which you need to join the August contest, just email me and I will send it to you. (http://www.onlinetradersforum.com/private.php?do=newpm&u=1)

If you are new to the simulator, you can join at anytime. This thread will be used to discuss the game and post updates on the standings.

You start with $100,000 and you can trade stocks long or short. You can only trade stocks above $2.00. Whoever has the highest amount at the close of trading on Tuesday, August 31, 2010, wins.

The trading simulator/contest is open only to registered members of this forum. (Registering is free!) (http://www.onlinetradersforum.com/register.php)

Send me a private message (http://www.onlinetradersforum.com/private.php?do=newpm&u=1) and I will send you the link and password for your free sign up.

It could have been an outstanding day if I had shorted FAZ like I intended, I would have cleaned up.
But I guess I had too many windows open because my display stopped updating.
I didn't notice it, and I when I went to buy the short the price was way under what I'd just seen, which was about 7-8 minutes stale.
As a result I'm sitting 100% in virtual cash, which is usually a bad thing in my opinion.
The virtual contests seem like a fun hobby, and there's no way I'll ever be able to afford the $25,000 to fund a frequent trader account.
Well at least not until next year, when I might sell a 10 ounce bar of silver for the 25 KFRN.
