I have reset the trading simulator for July - the prize for winning is a great trading book. The winner will also have his win displayed under his name in the forum.

If you already played in previous competitions, you already have an account and your can join the July contest with the same username and password by going here (http://vse.marketwatch.com/Game/StartViewGame.aspx?id=OnlineTradersForum). If you have forgotton the game password, which you need to join the July contest, just email me and I will send it to you. (http://www.onlinetradersforum.com/private.php?do=newpm&u=1)

If you are new to the simulator, you can join at anytime. This thread will be used to discuss the game and post updates on the standings.

You start with $100,000 and you can trade stocks long or short. You can only trade stocks above $2.00. Whoever has the highest amount at the close of trading on Friday, July 30, 2010, wins.

The trading simulator/contest is open only to registered members of this forum. (Registering is free!) (http://www.onlinetradersforum.com/register.php)

Send me a private message (http://www.onlinetradersforum.com/private.php?do=newpm&u=1) and I will send you the link and password for your free sign up.

I have learned a lot from using this simulator. I have even learned how to work around the non-real timeliness of the simulation. Although I would be willing to pay a bit for that real time capability. Unfortunately I rarely use electronic funds transfers on the internet due to my paranoid thinking about digital fakery.

I do have one suggestion/request.

It would be nice to have the option to maintain one's position from month to month. You'd have to make the decision before the market close at the end of the month, and the decision selection would be to maintain the entire portfolio or to reset as it currently does. And yes, if you decided to hold your position then you would not pay any broker fees.

Or is that too much work?
