I've searched but can't find an answer to this.

Q: Is there a way to track the balance of the number of shares sold in a particular company? Is the number fixed; as in you can only buy one if there is one for sale?

If I haven't answered my own question, I would think the trend would be useful and a trend graph even better.

when you sell, there is always a buyer.. a specialist normally handles imbalances to prevent giant fluctuations by keeping an inventory of shares available.. but there can be imbalances.. normally you see them at the open or close of the trading session.. if you use reuters, it pops up on the headlines all the time especially at the close

Thanks, that's kinda what I thought. I guess selling pressure is the best measure of what people think of a stock.
