How does long and short work for this weekly challange??

MBRK short
Just did a very simple screen for stocks between $2 & $5 with greater than 10% rise in last 5 days. Just 10 stocks, including zixi. Wondering if anything looked like a breakout long or severe pullback short. I went for the latter as next week will likely be more selling than buying all round. Zixi looks like the former and a nice pick AJ/chartguru.

Btw - here's the opposite fundamental view on this:

I think he's wrong. But then I've had examples in the past of biotech stocks I was down on, and correct, but it took much upside and many months to be proved right (eg. NBIX).

Anyone fancy taking FRPT long? Maybe it could be played by "the little green man" - sort of like the non-existent extra player when playing Risk with just 2 people (okay this is going back to when I was like 8 so I don't really remember if that's a real thing or if I just made it up!).

Part of my reluctance is my pledge to find short picks until the end of June. But another part of it was that it wasn't clear to me what the political fundamentals were for this firm.
Will they lose business when a new Democratic President scales back the war?
Or will they win business as more 'sensitive' Democrats make sure the vehicles for our troops have the proper protection?
And how does all of this filter down to a change next week?
I know you pointed out that they are oversold. And so they may be.
At this point, I think I will still look for a short for next week. 8)

WCI short please,
Has moved up 300% in the past 2 or 3 weeks, but the story has not changed. Failed to take out Thursday's high on Friday, even though others in the group did. May move a little higher before coming back down, but I doubt it. Looking for a move down at least to the $3.29 area and hopefully down to around $3.00, or lower depending on the market as a whole and the sector itself.
The Guru's pick of MHO is also good, but has not moved up as much as WCI on a percentage basis, and also did push up to a higher high on Friday before reversing. I think it will move dwon also, but not as dramatic as WCI.
Of course this is just MHO, (not to be confused with the stock symbol).

I'd like JBLU short please.
Despite a chart that looks oversold to me, I'd rather be short on this stock going into earnings Tuesday.
2551
The purchase of 19% of the company by Lufhansa provides needed cash, but is dilutive, since the stock sold was newly issued for that purpose. With cancellations and long delays part of last quarter's operations, I'm looking for earnings to go down, along with the stock price.
The short interest is almost 22% of float, so I've got a lot of company. With any kind of good news in the earnings, a short squeeze is a real danger.
With my real money [outside this weekly] I'll be watching JBLU for trading opportunities in either direction.

Is 8:09am PST too late? I'm really sorry for changing. I thought it was 9:30am for some reason. That can't be PST though I suppose? Is that Greenwich Means Time (GMT)? :D
Did I end up with my original choice COIN?
Sorry for the inconvenience. :bird: :wavey:

Hero to zero in one week, my pick up 40% last week, down over 20% already this week!
I like this even more as a short now than I did at the first of the week. Up against resistance from December. "May" come back down to my entry by the end of the week, but I don't think it will be the winner.

Sorry to get off the topic, but this idea would be worth investing in. I'm not sure where they are at, but I was in the commercial cabinet business for 25 years before the beer business and I still have all of my fingers, but not everyone does. This is very cool high tech!

I think you may be right about shorting WCI, especially now that it's at close to $5.00. There were no shares available for shorts so I bought Feb 16 $2.50 Puts just now for $.15. If it goes down to $3.50-4.00 those puts should be close to double in value. One thing I've noticed and learned about Options is you have to be careful about the spread between Bid and Ask, because you buy at ask and it's worth to sell at bid, so it immediately starts off in the hole by that difference, which can be 25-50% in the negative right off the bat, so it's like an up front handicap. They are always available though, even if short shares are not.
