Found a recent IPO on the Toronto Exchange that looks very promising
The company manufacturers high purity materials used in the semiconductor and solar celll markets... Things like cadmium telluride, etc
They also run a recycling business for these materials, manage of which are toxic.
The stock is VNP.TO
and the website is

Your picks have been pretty solid. Do you have a physics or env background.
Btw, 5N Plus looks very interesting. Why don't they have a named website)?

Bman,
I cannot buy any of your picks (IPOs from my etrade account until 30 days pass).
How are you buying API.TO, KCL.TO and importantly VNP.TO?
Thanks!

VNP.TO trade up over $9.25 at one point but now its back to about $9...
I'm looking for a strong close to about $9.45 or so, with an up gap to my targat at $10 tomorrow
I'll probably sell into that up gap if it goes down that way as the stock is getting a little pricey at $10
of course I always underestimate how high the market will take a stock that has momentum, so for all I know.. it might go to $15

If you didnt sell today you have a stronger will than I with an IPO! Sometimes they do strange things. I would have a tight stop loss trigger!

Interresting stuff. I bought this stock today (7.80cad) after youre interresting post here and some own research.
5N plus is indeed the major supplier to FSLR, in fact they are building a whole new plant right next to the German FSLR plant to be completed halfway 2008. The production increase would be big, sales should be easy with FSLR nextdoor, so this stock is probably going to rise well on sales increase alone trough the year. The company has right now a quarterly revenue of about 6million cad and a profit of 1 million cad. This i like, the company isn't large yet at all, but for it's smallness it already has a nice profit (and they have half a million R&D to), resource suppliers to solar have done well in 2007, the company has it's customer ready to buy their products, and they are in progress of increasing production.
Besides, the company is not only making products for FSLR, although i expect ATM they will concentrate on CdT. But theyr other products show potential to.
However there is one thing to note. Cadmium is toxic and not very much liked by the German goverment. FSLR does have a big market in Germany due to the subsidies there. I'm not sure wheter or not they have talked this out with the German goverment but it might be that where Germany is now allowing FSLR for the benifits, it might slap them later when better solar alternatives are available.
Oh btw. tommorow 5n plus will release year results. Just bought them before this date. Oh and 7.80 was a fair price i guess.

Yeah, if you believe that FSLR is the "Intel" of solar, as Cramer says, then this company would be Intel's key supplier

They company recycles the material..that solves the waste issue
New Facility in Germany

This production plant will employ over 45 people for the fabrication of high purity metals destined for the thin film solar panel manufacturing industry. 5N PV will also have intensive recycling activities of all metals related to this industry.

I'm still in this company for the long, and IMO it's an absolutly fantastic stock with great potential. i'm not going to put down all the reasons here because there are many, but think of a virtual monopoly position, superior technoligy, and a wide array of growth sectors it's engaged in.
But anyway, i bought extra when it was going down in Januari, and averaged below 7 cad. Even bought extra at 9 cad when it retraced after it's first run to 12.5 cad. It did well in its last quarterly results even before they expanded. Keeping it all long and not selling any, only buyng extra. I think well see 20 cad by te summer, easily, due to their expansion and FSLR's growth.

The ULTIMATE First Solar PIN ACTION play
5N Plus.. the Canadian company that supplies them with the cadmium telluride material which is essential to FSLR's panels
Tellurium is one of the rarest elements on earth... which means there is almost NO competition to 5N... they're probably the only company in the world producing the material
5N Plus, symbol VNP on the Toronto exchange is a screaming buy here under $12, with FSLR hitting new highs
