Brings nothing but clutter. Not funny. Makes the forum less attractive to newcomers and vets alike. Maybe it's like Adam Sandler, people think he's funny but I don't get it.
Just my opinion.

Apparently he is here to stay and his posts are getting more plentiful.

I don't think Thierry has any intention of banning him unfortunately. If he did, he would just come back... like a Stephen King novel.

And no, he is not funny just annoying. He downgrades this forum with his obnoxious posts.

I agree. Get rid of Zapper. Lately I have only been able to log on at night. So I log in and see lots of threads, but soon see that it is mostly clutter from Zapper using up space on the forum. Hopefully if we all ignore him he will get bored and leave.

I'll put him on moderated status and check his posts before they go live. He has his fans, who do find him entertaining. Don't forget the "ignore" feature.

It is amazing to me that he has his fans, I just don't get that. The ignore feature is ok but new visitors won't have it engaged, and his bizarre posts are not going to be understood. If you were a first time visitor the other day, you would have seen the last 6 posts in the stock picks and ideas section were his moronic nonsense, if that visitor was me I would have written the forum off as worthless and moved on.
You have to do as you see fit and one of the attractive things about this forum is the low impact moderation, but the most attractive part of this forum is the high level of discourse and to that he is clearly a negative.

I occassionally wonder what it is that brings posters like gzapper to the forum, or any forum. Clearly the desire to be a contributor to a thing of value cannot be his motivation, so the explanation must lie elsewhere. A desparate, childish cry for attention? Maybe, but the anonymous feature makes actual recognition limited. Lashing out at a world that has left him behind or ignored him seems the most likely. Unable to make a meaningful impression on the real world (for obvious reasons) he brings his nonsense to the virtual world. If one is intellectually unable to advance the discussion and fears an attempt would make his shortcomings obvious, one may attempt to be "funny". If you're Robin Williams it comes off funny and interesting, if you're some drooling kid, sitting naked at your computer, in your parents house, at 3 AM, typing with one hand, it comes off as gzapper.

ignored.

Gzapper - feel free to type whatever you want and run people away from this forum - I won't see it.

You seem to have more fire in your belly than your last blog entry suggested.

I'm not entirely convinced this gzapper is the work of an intellectual midget nor of someone new to the forum. The strange incoherent ramblings seem to be more carefully crafted than those of someone who is merely ignorant, much more reminiscent of spam mail fodder. In short, I think it is someone from the past having fun with us, it does tend to make the forum look a little on the low-brow side at first glance and for that reason only I dislike the posts, however I do like a good mystery and figuring out the psychology behind the posts. Although if I'm right, I'd say the poster is mocking us and indicating that we are full of ourselves upon our high horses.

GZapper providing a humility check.

It is only a check if you "feel" it was checked......one for the noodle.

I'm just speculating on his intent, not it's effectiveness or need.

Actually......been noticing his picks. They have been as good as or better than the majority on this board.

Now that is a little concerning.

So, in the name of loving someone for picking stocks, we better not vote him off. It would start an ugly precedence.

The wonders of cookies and IP footprints indicate that there is very little chance that gzapper is sharing computers or IP addresses with anyone "from the past." Can't guarantee it, but I would say I am 98% sure about that.

Proxies make IP tracking pretty much irrelevant and so do the vast number of open wi-fi's. If I were an unscrupulous type, I would be using bitlord to download the latest movies using my neighbors unsecured wi-fi:lol:
