April 2007 Trading Simulator contest - First Prize $100.00

I have set up another trading simulator for April - 1st prize is $100, 2nd and 3rd prizes are trading books.

Once you join, you won't have to rejoin every month like before, I'll just reset the contest at the end of every month back to the $100,000 for everyone.

If you already played in previous competitions, you already have an account and your can join the February contest with the same username and password by going here (http://vse.marketwatch.com/Game/StartViewGame.aspx?id=CramersMadMoneySim). If you are new to the simulator, you can join at anytime up. This thread will be used to discuss the game and post updates on the standings.

You start with $100,000 and you can trade stocks long or short. Whoever has the highest amount at the close of trading on April 30, 2007 wins.

Well, I just found out a glitch to the game.

We could all just short a stock before its scheduled to have a split and reap massive gains!!....not.

The same thing happen to me a few month back only I wasnt short and JDSU had a reverse split. Thierry can fix it, lol. :lol:

It really isnt that big of a deal, it will be fixed before the end of the month I'm sure. Besides, Aiki going to kill us anyway and we will ahve already forgotten about this, lol. :lol:

What is funny is that I never really short stocks in this sim and Im usually in the red, so this month I decided to short whatever I thought would increase. Thats what I get for thinking! :p

May be limiting the amount of money you can allocate to one equity should be restricted.No one would put all their eggs in one basket or atleast they shouldn't.

Thierry, I'd like to point out that either Bahroor or Hammer60 is the actual monthly winner (heck, could be anyone...still got one day left tomorrow) as the top two mistakenly shorted a stock that splitted the day after, which gave them a 100% return: a glitch. ;)

Yeah the first two places had NKE in their portfolios and it had a split causing their portfolios to balloon like when I had JSDU and they had the 15 to 1 split, lol.

OK, I really screwed up this month. I forgot to reset the game on Monday night, but I imagine the positions didn't change on Tuesday. Please let me know if the list below is the right order for the top 3 positions for April 30. (These were the results at the end of Tuesday, May 1, 2007.) Also, did that split problem resolve itself?

I remember bahroor being higher up and looking at his return for the day, he took a major hit. You might be able to figure it out because it was only one day difference and you cant use some mathematical formulation I dont know off the top of my head. :?

Didn't you openly apologize for mistakenly shorting a splitting stock causing a glitch? And now you bring up your name in a possible list of winners? I think you just ate your own words.

In this case, either bahroor or hammer60 should be the rightful winner then. :) Good job guys.
